Years at MV: Sixth year (first year in the Upper School)

What I love most about teaching: I love the unexpected; you never know what is going to happen on any given day on the job! A moment of genius is quite inspirational, but failure is also OK.

Favorite things about MV: First, I love our community; there’s a special sense of community and understanding between everyone, and I think this is special. There is a common bond we share just by being a part of this community. Second, I love the innumerable opportunities available to everyone, such as traveling abroad, making connections with alumni, or being able to shine in the spotlight.

Favorite subject besides Spanish: Sociology; I almost minored in sociology, but I didn’t because it had too many statistics classes!

Favorite classes in college: Animals in Human Society, Cultural Geography

Biggest regret: Not taking a gap year to travel the world!

Things on your holiday wish list: a MacBook Air and a trip to Southeast Asia

Favorite things to do outside of school: walks in the park, trying new restaurants, hanging out with friends, road trips, yoga, shopping, listening to music, concerts

Career if I didn’t become a teacher: An education abroad program coordinator, or a buyer for an international fair trade boutique

Advice to students: Take classes that you’re interested in when you’re in college. Don’t be afraid to try something new or unknown.
